Last weekend, Checo, Sammy, Emma, my mom, and I embarked on a journey to Queretero, Queretero, Mexico for the Calvary Chapel Mexico Pastor's Conference. Checo attended the conference and we went along for the adventure. Oh, and it was an adventure! It took about 10 hours each way! Sammy had a hard time falling asleep in the car, so he cried for about 2 hours before falling asleep everytime that he was tired.
Here he is as he fights the sleep!
My mom worked hard at entertaining him! Here he is flossing his teeth. She gave him the floss so that he could entertain himself, and he knew exactly what to do.
The mirror was entertaining for awhile also...
My mom, Sammy, Emma, and I stayed at the hotel during the day while Checo was at the conference. Here we are eating breakfast outside. It was actually really nice weaather- about 75 degrees. It was a nice break from the 100 degree weather here in Monterrey.
On the last day, we joined Checo at the conference. It was at an orphanage, so there was a nice area for Sammy to play. Here he is running around the race track.
Eating lunch at the conference.
Checo said the conference was really good. We got to meet two guys from the San Antonio Calvary Chapel. One of them is the missions pastor and he is leading a group that is coming here at the end of July. They are going to help us with construction on the church and the house next door. We are so thankful that God has answered our prayers for help by sending them!
Since Emma was hiding in all the pictures, here are a few of her. The reason there was a blanket over her head in all of the pictures is because she was asleep and the lights and sounds wake her up, so I put the blanket over her to keep out the distractions.
Overall, it was a good trip. The conference was encouraging for Checo, and he got to meet pastors from all over Mexico. However, we will not be going on another road trip until Sammy and Emma are at least a few years older!

Hi Coriann! Your babies are beautiful! Emma (love her name) is so expressive -- actually Sammy (I named my goldfish Sammy when I was 14) is, too. Glad to hear your mom was able to visit and things are coming together w/the church. If you ever think of any way I could help, don't hesitate to send me an email via Facebook. Congratulations on your sweet family!
Jenny
Thanks Jenny! I really appreciate your offer to help. I just realized that I never responded to your great ideas that you wrote in a comment. I'll send you an email and let you know what would be helpful!
Gramma Tina found out that Sammy also knows exactly what to do with remotes, cell phones, toothbrushes, deoderant, hairbrushes, and even some funny unmentionables! I couldn't believe it when he put the floss in his mouth and started in! His dentist should see this some day! He is so observant... so smart! And not just because I am his gramma!
