Happy T-U-V

Samuel and Emma both had birthdays in the month of May! Sammy turned 3 on May 6th and Emma turned 2 on May 29th. We had a joint birthday party on May 14th. We realize that we won't be able to do joint parties forever, soon they are going to want their own parties. But we are going to do it while we can! Here are some pictures of the party.

This was on Sammy's acutal birthday (May 6th).  We went to Carl's Jr with Checo's parents and brothers and the kids played on the huge play structure they have there.  Sammy doesn't like to smile for pictures lately...he puts on his serious face.

This is party day before the party started.  Emma got into a goodie bag (thus the sucker in her mouth) while I was decorating.  The party was at a little zoo.

It had been extremely hot (in the 100s) in early May, so we were expecting a really hot party day.  But the weather changed for us that day, it was in the 70s with lots of wind.  And it seemed like it was going to start to rain the whole time, but thankfully it didn't start raining until we were packing up to leave.  This picture is of the little covered area where we had the food and cake.

Everyone got a container of carrots to feed to the animals.

The giraffe ate carrots right out of our hands!

This picture is after we sang "Happy Birthday to You" or "Happy T-U-V" as Emma and Sammy say.  They used to say it right, and then Sammy changed it to "Happy T-U-V" and it has stuck ever since.  I made ice cream cone cupcakes for the kids.  They tip over very easy (I know from experience), so I put them inside a plastic cup with little candies in the bottom to weigh them down.  I also made a carrot cake for the adults.
Trying to get a picture of most of the kids (some ha already left at this point).
It's a really long story about the Barney pinata, I don't even want to write it again since I already wrote it once and then lost everything....just know that we had a Barney pinata at the party that was a Toy Story theme!

Sammy's first time hitting a pinata (because all the other times he's been too scared to do it)

Lorenita and Emma

Emma on her actual birthday (May 29th)...She didn't want to stop for a picture, so Checo had to grab her and I had to dance around to get her to smile.

Ok, I'm going to hurry up and post this now before it disappears on me again.  If there are any mistakes, it's because I didn't proof-read it!
