Little by little, we are fixing up the church. When I say "we" it really means Checo. I haven't had a chance to help with much because I've been busy with Sammy and Emma! Today Checo has an electrician at the church and he is re-wiring the house next door so that it can have air condidtioners. Right now it's just 110 volts, and it needs to be 220 volts for the AC's to work. We have 4 air conditioners that are going to be installed in the house in time for the group that is coming from Calvary Chapel. They are going to be working on the house a bit, so we don't want them to melt while they are working!
Checo has been looking into how to register our church with the government so that we are officially an A.R. (Religious Association), and it's a long process to get registered. But in the meantime, we can start meeting as a church, we just can't say that we are an A.R. So we've offically started Sunday services and also a Tuesday night prayer and discipleship meeting. We merged the Saturday kids program in with Sunday mornings because the kids started coming both Saturday and Sunday and we were doing 2 kids programs in a row. So we decided that until we have more people to help, that we would just do a Sunday morning kids service (at 10:30) and then at 11:15 we have a fellowship time with snacks and drinks of course (for the kids and adults). And then at about 11:30ish, we have the regular church service. The kids are welcome to stay if their parents are with them. It's just that right now, we don't have the space ready or the help to have Sunday school classes at the same time as the regular church service. We are so thankful for what God's doing! Checo also had been planning on offering music lessons to the kids that wanted them, but he was going to wait a little bit longer before starting. Well, I guess God had other plans... the kids started asking for music lessons without Checo even mentioning anything about it. So on Thursday afternoons, Checo gives guitar lessons to 2 kids and drum lessons to 1 kid.
I hope that my writing was not too jumbled and hard to understand. I feel really tired right now and it's hard for me to keep my thoughts straight. I'm ready to take a nap!
Thank you for your prayers and your support. We appreciate you!
