Bob the Builder

Sammy loves Bob the Builder.  He has a few Bob DVDs and he gets to watch them every morning while I take a shower and get ready for the day during Emma's 1st nap.  He loves anything that has to do with construction!  As we drive down the road, he points to big machinery and says, "Bo" (that's the short "o" sound, not a long "o", it's sounds just like "Bob", but without the last "b" sound).  Since Sammy loves construction equipment so much, we thought he'd love to go to Checo's dad's business where they have a big loader (or at least that's what Checo calls it).  Well, we got there, and it was pretty loud, with machines and motors running, and dust flying.  And Sammy was terrified, he started crying and pointing out the gate, telling us that he wanted to leave.  He finally calmed down, but if we took one step in the direction of the loader, he would start to cry again.  So one of us stayed with him far away from the loader the whole time.  Emma, on the other hand, is our fearless child.  She wants to do anything and everything.  So Checo walked her over to the loader as Sammy screamed for the safety of his little sister.  They climbed up into the loader, and Checo gave her a ride.

Emma loved it!!!  She was laughing and pointing at everything.  We thought that maybe after Sammy saw Emma in it and that she was okay, that he would want to get in, but everytime I took a step towards the loader, he'd start the screaming.  Sorry Sammy.
