109!

Can anyone guess what the 109 in the title stands for?  If you guessed 109 degrees for the temperature, you are right!  Well, not today....today we are at a cool 97 degrees.  It was 109 degrees yesterday.  The kids stayed cool in the water all day.  Then came bed time...the kids were tucked in bed with their air conditioners blowing cool air in their rooms.  Then at 9pm, the power went out.  After about 10 minutes of no fan blowing on me downstairs, I was sweating!  At about 10:30, the power came back on and Checo and I went to sleep.  I was awakened about 30 minutes later to the AC turning off again.  Sidenote:  I was already asleep.  Checo says that about 2 minutes after my head hits the pillow, I'm out.  And he lays there struggling to fall asleep.  I know, it's not fair.  I remember my sister saying the same thing growing up!  Back to the story....the power was out for the rest of the night...no AC, no fans, not even a little breeze blowing through the windows!  It was about 100 degrees all night- it didn't cool down much.  Sammy couldn't sleep, he was up and down, in and out of our room.  Checo resorted to sleeping on the hard tile floor because it felt much cooler there.  Finally around 2 or 3am we all fell asleep.  Emma didn't have any trouble sleeping.  She woke up once and I gave her some milk and took off all her clothes and she fell right back to sleep until 7:30 this morning.  The power just came back on about 1 hour ago, at 2:30pm.  I'm hoping that the same thing doesn't happen again tonight!

Here is a picture of Sammy and Emma from a few days ago when my mom was here visiting us!
More to come on that visit later!

Jorge is just like you...falls asleep within 2 minutes and I am still left to fall asleep on my own! I still complain about it too! Maybe Emma slept fine because she is a native to Mexico. Poor Sammy is from these cold parts where there is a threat of snow in the lowlands tomorrow! I sure hope the ac stays on tonight.

Oh man, that's too bad Lis....you are still left to fall asleep on your own!
The power went off one more time for the whole night just a few nights ago. The good things was that it wasn't quite as hot and there was a little breeze moving through our house.
