Church Update

We had a busy weekend filled with church activities.  Friday night was the first Marriage Class/Bible Study.  The purpose of the meeting is to help strengthen the marriages within the church.  Every married couple is invited and it is every other week at 8pm (just incase any of you want to make a special trip down here).  We start out with a light dinner (since most people eat dinner here around 8 or 9pm) and then Checo does the teaching.  The teaching is very interactive, the idea is that we all talk together about the topics.  Last week was the first meeting and it went very well.  Please pray with us that God will use this Bible study and time of fellowship to encourage and build up the marriages.
The next event of the weekend was the Saturday Movie Outreach.  Once a month, on a Saturday afternoon, we show a movie at the church and invite everyone that lives in the neighborhood.  This time we showed a movie called, "El Ultimo Vuelo" ("The Last Flight Out", in English) and had nachos and pop.  There were about 30-40 people that came.  The movie was very good and it clearly shared the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
The next day was the Sunday morning church service at 10:30am.  There were some new people that came (7, to be exact).  Checo just finished teaching through the book of John on Sunday mornings, so before starting a new book, he asked Manolo to give the sermon.  Manolo has been going to the church since we first started it and he is studying to become a pediatrician.  So naturally, Manolo included the kids in his teaching.  He taught about the armor of God and the kids (and adults) loved his interactive sermon.
That's all for now.  Emma just woke up and is wiggling out of my lap as I try to finish up typing and now I can hear that Sammy just woke up too.  He's doing his baby talk quite loudly.  He must be saying something like, "Hey mom, I hear you typing in there with Emma.  When are you gonna come and get me?  I've been awake for over 10 minutes now!"
