I thought this day would never come
Tajin... have you heard of it? It's a chilli powder that is flavored with lime and people in Mexico commonly put it on fruits and vegetables. If Mexico had a signature snack, this would be it (according to me). I never liked it, I tried it several times, but I just didn't like it. Until a few months ago, all of a sudden, I liked Tajin on jicama and carrots. I guess it grew on me, an acquired taste. Veggies were as far as I would go with it though. The fruits and chilli flavor still wasn't something that delighted my taste buds....until today! I was making a big plate of veggies with lime and Tajin and I decided to give the watermelon a try again. And I liked it!!! I guess I'm really becoming Mexican!
P.S. A wonderful invention is in the picture above in the upper left hand corner: a lime squeezer. Did you know they existed? I didn't until I moved here. Maybe everyone in the US has one also, but I had never had one before. They are great....no lime juice all over your fingers as you try to squeeze the juice out. You just cut the lime in half and then put it in the squeezer and squeeze!

The picture makes my mouth water. Yumm! I got my son-in-law a lime juicer for Christmas! Lol
"...put it in the squeezer and squeeze!" Yes. You're amazing. I recently had chili-coated dried pineapple from Trader Joe's and it was delicious! I wasn't sure if I'd like it, but wanted to be adventurous. If you make it there, you should pick some up. The sweet, spicy and chewy combination are yummy!
A lime juicer! Thank you Marta, for teaching me the right word! I've been losing my English skills....some days I feel like I don't speak English or Spanish very well. Haha!
Jenny, they have the chili coated dried fruit all over the place! I'm still not sure about it...it's been a slow process for me.
