Sunday

Warning: There are no pictures in this post.  I know, boring!

Here's what we did today:

6:15am: Emma wakes up, I go get her and give her milk.  She watches YouTube videos of the ABC song while I send a few emails.

6:45am: Sammy wakes up crying.  He won't stop crying even after I get him.  I ask him what's wrong and he makes a scary dinosaur sound.  I ask him if there was a dinosaur in his bed and he responds with, "uh-huh".

7:00am: I start making pancakes and Sammy and Emma want to help.  They fight over who gets to stand on the green plastic chair.  There are 3 more little plastic chairs about 10 feet away, but they both want the green one.  Emma finally caves in and goes for the red one.  They help me stir the pancake batter.

Somewhere in the midst of the fight over the gree chair Checo wakes up and takes a shower.

7:30am:  We eat breakfast.  Emma, of course, doesn't eat....she drank her milk, so she's good for a few more hours.  I don't know how her stomach can be so tiny!  She doesn't eat breakfast until about 9 or 9:30 every morning.

I take a shower and get ready, pack the diaper bag for church, and iron my skirt that was all wrinkled.

8:45am:  We leave the house for church and stop by HEB (the grocery store) for milk for the fellowship time after church.  Sidenote:  they don't sell half and half here...it's always a treat when we go to the US and there is half and half instead of milk!

9:00am: At church....we put a movie on the TV for Sammy and Emma so that Checo and I can set things up without them un-doing all our work.
I make the coffee in our new 100-cup coffee pot!  I know, it's huge!  And then I realize we are out of cups.  Back to the store for me.  This time, Walmart.

10:00am: Get the rest of the snacks ready and post new Sunday school schedules in the classrooms.  Checo and the worship team are getting ready.

10:30am: The church service starts.  Sammy and Emma are both very tired from the busy day on Saturday and also from waking up so early.  I start seeing signs of meltdowns during the worship (music) time.

11:00am:  They didn't make it through the worship time....Emma starts screaming that she wants to go sit with Jorge (Checo's brother).  But the problem is, when I let her go, she doesn't go sit with him, she goes in the aisle and starts trying to get attention from everyone by dancing and smiling really cute as if she is a perfect little angel.  She did that about 3 times before I told her "no more Jorge".  Then she started screaming.  I took Sammy and Emma next door to the house (where the Sunday school rooms are) and we waited there until the worship was over.

Do you feel like you were there with us?  To be continued tomorrow......

Clarification: I was just reading what I wrote last night and I realized that it probably sounds like we drink half-and-half instead of milk when we are in the US. That's not the case...I meant to put in our coffee. I guess I shouldn't write when I'm tired.
